Reminiscing about our wedding a year ago. I posted last about our beautiful intimate wedding. Go see if you haven’t already. It was lovely.
This post is about the PARTY that came the next night!
John & I enjoy a good time so while we wanted our wedding to be special and small, we did want to include our friends and have a great party to celebrate our marriage.
It took us awhile to come up with a good place but on a whim, we called Blanco’s which is on Alabama in central Houston. We go to Blanco’s on occasion to dance to the great music so thought it might be a good venue for party. Blanco’s is a great place for local Texas and Houston live music and dancing. Come to find out, it’s not open on Saturdays and you can rent it out. So... we did!! We called one of my favorite Texas musicians - Jesse Dayton - and arranged for him to play that night for our guests. John called Cantu’s and voila, we had a great catered BBQ meal. All done but the guests!! Very cool.
I have general memories about this evening.....
- Lots of Friends!
- Lots of Family!
- Got to meet Jesse Dayton and listen to him sing. Even spent some time at the end of the evening just chatting with him and his band.
- We have a lot of friends who don’t dance (:-)
- The BBQ was really good.
- The wedding cake from Cake Lady Bakery in Friendswood was really good too!
- It’s hot in there when you’re dancing.
- Lee Ray takes fabulous pictures!!
- We had a great time and lots of fun!!

What a NEAT slideshow!! The celebration was so much fun last year!! Congrats on your first year of many, many more wonderful years to come.
