As you can see, we are currently in the middle of the "cone of uncertainty" for Hurricane Ike now less than 5 days out. While not always accurate this far out, it is a little disconcerting. Brings up lots of questions ..... that if we wait too long we can miss a window.....
1) should we buy wood for all 25 (yes... 25) windows and doors now and have it cut so that it's ready to go up should we want to leave?
2) should we evacuate for a Cat 1? a Cat 2? even a Cat 3? John and I differ on this point quite a bit. Cat 1 - no. Cat 2 - maybe. Cat 3 - John is a maybe, I'm a yes. hmmmmm..... the point is undecided. He doesn't have an issue with no air conditioner for quite a while. I do. Although, I'm am concerned about leaving the house unprotected and at risk from looters.
3) should we (and when) do we start actually packing the stuff we would want to take with us?
4) What all do we take with us and how much will fit in the cars?
Still too many questions out there to know what to do yet.....
